'2 inch' low-profile thermal printer mechanisms
Inelco Hunter is stocking low-profile printer mechanisms for ‘2inch’ thermal paper, from FCL Components.
Formerly, the above are 58mm (±1mm) printers. There are also 60mm types, identified by adding an #01 suffix. Paper thickness can range across 60 to 150μm but “there may be exceptions” warns FPC.
Print density is 8 dot/mm (0.125mm pitch) in both dimensions.
“The units feature clear printing from the 8dot/mm head. They print at 200mm/s – 1,600 dot line/s at 24Vdc power supply, and 120mm/s – 96 dot line/s at 12Vdc,” according to the distributor.
The actual voltage range is 10.8 to 26.4V, with the motor drawing a maximum of 1.5A, and the head 2.6A at 12V and 5.3A at 24V. 3.3 or 5V (75mA max) is also needed for the on-board control logic.
Operation is also over +5 to +40°C and non-condensing relative humidity of 20 to 85%.
For easy of operation, a rear paper insertion mechanism allows for a straight paper path.
The metal frame improves ESD performance, and acts as a heat sink allowing for continuous printing.
They are UL recognised and RoHS compliant.
Applications are foreseen in point-of-sale terminals, kiosk terminals, ticket machines, label printers, banks, measuring devices and medical equipment.
