Epson introduced its new multifunction point of sale (POS) receipt printer, the OmniLink® TM-H6000VI. This sixth-generation printer, featuring check processing and magnetic ink character recognition (MICR) with 99.9 percent accuracy, replaces the TM-H6000V and TM-H2000 printer models.

David Vander Dussen, product manager, Epson America, Inc. said, “The TM-H6000VI has a strong spot in Epson’s flagship portfolio of products.” With the OmniLink TM-T88VII and the OmniLink TM-m50II, the TM-H6000VI allows ISVs to choose the best printer solution for their customers’ implementations.

The TM-H6000VI is fast, able to print up to 500 mm/s when using 80 mm-wide media and Epson’s PS-190 power supply. The default print speed is 450 mm/s.

In addition to delivering speeds that can keep up with high-volume environments, the printer is designed to be a part of a connected environment. Users can choose USB, Ethernet, and legacy connectivity, so they can use the printer wherever needed throughout their operations. With a network connection, the TM-H6000VI can print receipts from online orders directly, with no POS software integration required. The printer also enables remote monitoring through integration with third-party solutions, giving users visibility into the printer’s status, maintenance counters, and part life expectancy.

Users have the option to use the Epson TM Utility app to streamline printer setup, and additional memory gives the printer multilingual font support. The TM-H6000VI also supports POS peripherals, including payment terminals and customer displays, and it gives Epson customers the convenience of backward-compatible driver support.

Along with other products in Epson’s line of POS printers, The TM-H6000VI supports a wide range of operating systems (e.g., iOS, Android, Windows, and Linux) and allows users to print from POS terminals, tablets, smartphones, and the cloud.

The TM-H6000VI is designed with a strong focus on reliability for high-volume businesses. It delivers smooth transactions of all types. “Payment by check has been declining, but large end users are still seeing regular payments by check,” Vander Dussen said. “For an enterprise, even a few percentage points of transactions represent large amount of revenue.” The printer also facilitates fast, efficient sales slip or packing slip printing.

Markets that will benefit from this new printer include grocery and retail, from enterprises to small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs). Financial institutions planning IT refreshes can also consider the TM-H6000VI with its check-processing and endorsement capabilities for teller stations.

An advantage for any vertical is the printer’s paper-saving feature. Epson reports that, depending on the text and graphics a business prints on receipts, the TM-H6000VI can reduce receipt length by up to 49 percent. Reducing paper use not only lowers costs but also supports businesses’ sustainability goals, both advantages that your clients can include when building a business case for a printer upgrade.

Existing partners can contact Epson to learn more about the TM-H6000VI and enable users to upgrade to this printer. ISVs new to Epson can explore the Epson Advantage Partner Program options to integrate this or other Epson products into the solutions you provide.
